I can't tell you how many people I know up in this area that game the FL residency system to take advantage of the no income tax benefits, but spend nearly every minute they can here. Sure the weather can be great and maybe they'll retire down there sometime, but these are people in their late 40s to mid 60s who have plenty of years left to go making good money and have businesses or jobs that allow them the flexibility to take advantage of the system. They're not contributing much to the FL economy barely living there half the year
