you want specifics? You first and I’ll let you know. I’m old school and since he’s only 30, I don’t want to seem immodest.
some of his college pals who went into finance are even doing up to $100 k better than him but that’s what happens when you do well in a good libby college and then do good post-grad stuff
:)
the original point being that NY is far more livable NOW than at any time during my fairly long life :)
our best and brightest FLOCK there

glad your son is doing well
NY has always been livable for those making 100K- but far less livable for those people than it was just 5 years ago
have rents not gone up/ / housing prices/ food prices/movie prices
so 100k is a finite number- does it buy more now than it did 5 years ago?
ive been a NYer since the 60s- its not better now than it was 10 years ago- steady decline over the last 10

fact
Crime in NYC reduced by 11% overall under the 7 years of Deblasio, the 8th and his last year saw an uptick after the Covid lockdowns.
Safety creates financial stability for its residents as more people prefer to reside in the inner city, real estate values increase, attraction of more businesses and the quality of life in general improves as more and more people are attracted to NYC. It also creates more tourism.
Tourism revenue under Deblasio increased by 9% as visitors sought their vacation in the Big Apple and felt safe.NYC was the most visited City in the World followed by London.
Covid slowed that to a halt in 2020-2021 as with all tourism world wide.
Under Deblasio NYC economy sky rocketed generating an additional 15% in city taxs from NEW businesses started under Deblasio.
NYC now has a larger GMP than South Korea and with less than half its population.
And lastly, corporations through Covid transitioned over to Zoom meetings and workers were pleased to work from home.
At Present 83% of these workers are back in their offices with 1-2 days working from home. Don’t believe me? Just go into the midtown area Mon-Fri around lunch time and you’ll see no sign of Covid ramifications.
word of advice, the Next time you respond to a post get your ducks in a row and reply with Facts not your opinion.
you obviously have no idea what’s going on in the big apple while you work from home.
good day.

College students, grads, legal foreigner workers and young people in general love to work and live in the City. Seriously who wouldn’t with all the trendy restaurants, different types of food and nightlife.
Its an experience like no other place in the world.
folks from Tokyo, London and even LA are mesmerized when they come to the Big Apple.
NYC is nothing like the old days of the 90s, 80s and 70s.
Its a unique city now. So much to do and see.

You dumb bra…..,currently there’s a Bidding war for Commercial space, my company is having a hard time moving out of Stamford to NYC.
Working in a cube from Stamford is 10 times worse than working from home, I’ll take Manhattan any day of the week.

So that "decline" seems to be in your mind, not reality
