Yep. They deregulated the power industry so spot prices went up 10,000 X. Unwilling to take the massive financial hit that would result from buying enough power on that spot market, utilities simply unplugged from it and went with blackouts instead.

TX has decided that utilities can now pass these costs into consumers so should be a bit better now.

Wonder if cons will be wailing about the escalating electric rates ....

Biden already signed for relief for them. Not punishing them like former occupant withheld aid from blue states.

Yeah, I don’t think we will be hearing more about secession from
The welfare state of TX for a bit ....

There's a very funny meme of Ted Cruz holding a "Socialism Sucks" tshirt. National grid? Socialism. Federal regulations to protect consumers? Socialism. FEMA? Socialism. Federal funds? Socialism.

Except that dc Republicans really have proved themselves worse than dc Democrats. Democrats didn’t provide support and succor for insurrectionists.

Yes there are many things - many MORE things - wrong with the GOP, but there are with the Dems also.

those entities you are describing are obviously good things and necessary and nobody is debating that.

what the issues here are the following: censorship, cancel culture (its ok for you and I to have a difference of opinion, its not ok for either of us to be censored, cancelled, fired over, etc).

"Believe what we believe or we will end you" is not ok in any capacity if you are left or right of the political spectrum.

                  Asking for a friend.

Do you have a job? You claim to. But right now you are posting on multiple
Threads across multiple states. I hope you aren’t accepting compensation for this time because you are cheating your employer of you are.

sure they did- all summer and continuing now

this summers riots and protests have done more damage than the 2 hrs on Jan 6
the riot and protest in washington earlier in the year did more damage
and dems supported all of that
                    Kamala bailed them out
Nadler said they were a figment of our imagination

the leadership in DC are all slimy Fs on both sides- why do we keep electing people we wouldnt let into our own homes

i love when you say federal funds- where did the federal government get these funds? what did they create to aquire these funds?

socialism is the control of the means of production- the grid is the distribution of the production which is still for the most part privately owned
regulations per say are not socialism- they are rules of the road- unless of course the regulation states that you do the work and give all the proceeds to someone else

Actually people do debate it because they have no idea what "socialism" is and how much of our system is socialist. They all fear it and bi tch about it and all the takers. They want to secede from the US and go it alone - until they NEED the feds.

disaster relief is different than bailouts from mismanagement
