Exactly correct. Now please use the same logic. We don't want to live in MS13 gangland either.

So, gangs, drugs, and terrorists aren't hoofing it cross country and sneaking into the U.S. at unfenced border points. They're coming in through regular immigration checkpoints. And, you do know that MS-13 is American, right? It started in LA and we exported it south of the border. So, check your paranoid racism and stupidity and start focusing on real threats to Americans, like lack of affordable healthcare, the wage gap, and gun deaths.

So says the kool-aid drinking liberal. Just as easy for me to say "So big businesses aren't polluting the lakes, streams and air. Only government has the waiver from the EPA and right to do this right now. Businesses know not to pollute because consumers will no longer purchase from polluters like they did in the last century."

But I try not to let one parties talking points cloud my perception of reality. You should try it too.

Affordable health care. Living wages. Gun control.

Let Americans live, and I'll buy into letting Mexico pay for a wall.

              Deal?

Sure health care remove the legislation that drove the costs up, living wages, continue hard-line negotiations with China, Canada and Mexico so we stop importing their cheap labor goods and manipulated currency crap. Gun control, tackle real reasons people are shooting i.e., because they are all drugged up on anti-depressants. Let Americans live, lets reduce the size of government. Throughout history it is big governments that commit mass genocide whether they be socialist, communist,, etc.

Oh, you almost had me and then dove headfirst back into stupidity.

"Real reasons people are shooting"? Those would be, because of easy access to guns. Duh. Other industrial nations have drugs and antidepressants, and the other fake causes like video games and movies, yet they don't have 365 mass shootings each year. Know what the difference is? Gunz.

It comes from raids for illegals where the employer who hired them receives no punishment. In fact I think we need more ICE and border agents. That does us more good dollar for dollar than a wall, especially since 70% of illegals enter legally through legal ports of entry. I also think we need a program to deal with parents who entered illegally years even decades ago, some as children themselves, have had children here, follow the law, have jobs and businesses (many even pay taxes). If youre new, mooch off the system or dont meet any other criteria? Buh bye. From here on out get rid of birthright citizenship and expand the Visa program for legal unskilled workers to enter for work for a few years. There are many ways we can better handle the situation than slapping up an ineffective wall
Now who can't see the pragmatic solutions here in this post?

And could that be because Congress recognized its inability to get past their politics and constituency demands enough to forge objective and fair regulations? Could it be that at one time these organizations were led by scientists who were listened to far more than today?

It ain't fake news. It is a real part of the problem. Not the only part but a part that needs to be addressed. So we switch from gun issues to knife issues. Remember London having more murders than NY.

Fake news. Mass murders: America. School killings: America. The UK has movies, video games, and depression, too. They don't have the frequent mass shootings or mass killings that we have.

omg for a brief two second blip in time. I'll take my odds of surviving a knife attack vs gun any day of the week. More people die by guns in the US than anywhere else save war-torn nations. Even then we're in the running.

God forbid science rule the day.

You also can't pay off scientists with super-PAC donations like you can members of Congress
