They have been producing less and hiring less (firing domestic workers and replacing them with on- and offshore and relocating overseas) for over 2 decades now because they cant compete .... Now it matters?

We have 4%< employment now. Who is going to fill all these (yet) non existent new jobs. Do you think factories that have been shuttered for 15 years can just turn back on? There are some industries we cannot compete any longer. That's not necessarily a bad thing for the economy overall.

Also, just because a person hasn't had other accusations to date doesn't mean this particular accusation isn't true. There is no need to rush his confirmation. This is a life time appointment.
