    NYC Grifter

    Trump University

In 2005, the Trump announced an eponymous “university” to teach his real-estate development secrets. Students ponied up as much as $35,000—some after being suckered in by slick free “seminars”—to learn how to get rich. One ad promised they would “learn from Donald Trump’s handpicked instructors, and that participants would have access to Trump’s real estate ‘secrets.’” In fact, Trump had little to do with the curriculum or the instructors. Many of the “students” have since complained that Trump U. was a scam. At one time, it had some prestigious instructors, but over time the “faculty” became a motley bunch of misfits. (It was also never really a “university” by any definition, and it changed its name to the “Trump Entrepreneur Initiative,” because as it happened, the school was violating New York law by operating without an educational license.)

The school shut down in 2010. In November 2016, Trump agreed to settle a series of lawsuits related to the school for $25 million. Trump did not admit any wrongdoing as part of the settlement. But he had insisted for months that he would not settle the suit because he expected to win. For a time, he appeared to have been trying to intimidate plaintiffs, including countersuing one for $1 million (a favorite Trump litigation tactic) and refusing to let her withdraw from the suit. (The countersuit was thrown out.) His lawyers cited positive reviews, but former students say they were pressured to give those. Trump also mounted a length attack on the judge, claiming his ethnicity made him biased. Trump has been widely repudiated across the board, with fellow Republicans openly calling him racist.

$10 million fine for money laundering

WASHINGTON, DC – The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) today imposed a $10 million civil money penalty against Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort (Trump Taj Mahal), for willful and repeated violations of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). In addition to the civil money penalty, the casino is required to conduct periodic external audits to examine its anti-money laundering (AML) BSA compliance program and provide those audit reports to FinCEN and the casino’s Board of Directors.

Trump Taj Mahal, a casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, admitted to several willful BSA violations, including violations of AML program requirements, reporting obligations, and recordkeeping requirements. Trump Taj Mahal has a long history of prior, repeated BSA violations cited by examiners dating back to 2003. Additionally, in 1998, FinCEN assessed a $477,700 civil money penalty against Trump Taj Mahal for currency transaction reporting violations.

"Trump Taj Mahal received many warnings about its deficiencies," said FinCEN Director Jennifer Shasky Calvery. "Like all casinos in this country, Trump Taj Mahal has a duty to help protect our financial system from being exploited by criminals, terrorists, and other bad actors. Far from meeting these expectations, poor compliance practices, over many years, left the casino and our financial system unacceptably exposed."

Trump Taj Mahal admitted that it failed to implement and maintain an effective AML program; failed to report suspicious transactions; failed to properly file required currency transaction reports; and failed to keep appropriate records as required by the BSA. Notably, Trump Taj Mahal had ample notice of these deficiencies as many of the violations from 2012 and 2010 were discovered in previous examinations.

Director Shasky Calvery expressed her appreciation to the Internal Revenue Service, Small Business/Self-Employed Division, which performed the examinations of Trump Taj Mahal, for their contributions to the investigation and for their strong partnership with FinCEN. She also thanked the Commercial Litigation Branch of the U.S. Department of Justice for their assistance with this enforcement action.

Trump Taj Mahal petitioned for bankruptcy in September 2014. That bankruptcy remains pending. The Bankruptcy Court approved of Trump Taj Mahal’s settlement on March 4, 2015.

FinCEN seeks to protect the U.S. financial system from being exploited by illicit actors. Its efforts are focused on compromised financial institutions; third-party money launderers; transnational organized crime; terrorist and other security threats; significant fraud; and threats to cyber security. FinCEN has a broad array of enforcement authorities to target both domestic and foreign actors affecting the U.S. financial system.

You voted for and support an abject failure in business, family life, integrity and common human decency. He's a con man and grifter, who squandered his inherited family fortune. Most major money center banks won't lend to him, his reputation in NYC in real estate, finance and banking is a joke and has been for 30 years.

You love this sack of shlt, that's good for you. Don't try and restructure history and sell nonsense that he's some munificent, generous business genius that has been good for people or NYC. That's a lie. And I'm not a Democrat, so go ahead and do your clinton/Obama whataboutism, it's irrelevant to me.

And you want to besmirch Mueller and the FBI? Why? If your Trump is such a wonderful brilliant demi-god, he's got nothing to worry about.

        Yet you and he worry.

Couple of loses, but if he owes what you think he does in taxes, he obviously had some winners in there too. If he is a failure with the coin he made, what does that make you.

Haha, just kidding. He is personally responsible for all the good stuff and knows just who is at fault for the bad stuff. Every team has a player like that.

He’s not worried, his base is not worried. He’s playing this along so the fall is much harder when they find nothing. It will backfire. It’s so obvious the Russians were just trying to infiltrate his campaign. You’re favorite Pravda like “news” outlets, NPR and CNN would have reported it by now. But even fakes innuendos that are out there like collusion is not a crime.

Besides could have ended the investigation if he wanted to.

                        This is not normal

Repeat: this is not normal. None of it.

President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner is once more under intense scrutiny after new reporting revealed that his lucrative financial relationship with Israel has deepened even as his influence over U.S. Middle East policy—from his leading role in Trump's effort to "derail" a U.N. vote against Israel to his sway over the president's Jerusalem move—has continued to grow.

According to a report published Sunday by the New York Times, Kushner's real estate firm received a $30 million investment from Menora Mivtachim—one of Israel's largest financial institutions—just before he accompanied Trump on his first diplomatic trip to Israel last year.

Donald Trump attacks John McCain: 'He's not a war hero'

Real-estate magnate Donald Trump attacked Sen. John McCain's (R-Arizona) status as a "war hero" on Saturday, saying he was only viewed as a war hero because "he was captured."

Speaking at an event in Iowa, Trump argued that McCain - who has spoken out against Trump for his controversial comments about Mexican immigrants - was not a real war hero.

"He's not a war hero," Trump said. "He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured."

"Perhaps he's a war hero, but right now, he's said bad things about a lot of people,' Trump added.

The real-estate mogul also said that he didn't like McCain after his loss to President Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.

"I never liked him after that, because I don't like losers," Trump said.

Trump has recently spoken out more forcefully against McCain, after the veteran senator denounced Trump for "firing up the crazies" during a speech last week in Phoenix.

In response, Trump demanded an apology, and tweeted that McCain is a "dummy."

As The Washington Post reported, Trump is lobbying for a primary challenger to run against McCain in 2016.

Several Republican presidential candidates were quick to condemn Trump.
