Reports are the first cruiser had the rear window smashed and had people banging on the cruiser. May be fake news, I’m not sure, but if true, doesn’t seem completely non violent.

The guy whose death they were protesting, while not armed, I believe he was smashing neighbors glass back doors and ran from police. Doesn’t make it right that he was shot and was unarmed, but at night and if he had a cell phone in his hand, this was partially his fault. He created the circumstances that led to his being shot. If you were the cop being called late at night on potential breaking and entering call and pursued a suspect over fences, etc and thought he had a gun and it was either you or him, would you have waited until he shot at you. Sorry, I am going home to my family alive. Not a great example of police brutality

This problem won't go away until police are held accountable for the killings they do. Counting police killings would be a good start. Making the officer personally liable, rather than using tax money to pay settlements, would be great, too. Currently, police can kill because there's no repercussions other than, perhaps, paid vacation.

Police are trained. What you and I would do is different than what a trained police officer should do. Perhaps if police were prohibited from carrying firearms, then the number of killings by police would drop and police would use other methods, such as de-escalation and tazers.

Police cannot be judge, jury, and executioner. Killing a guy for breaking glass, stealing, etc., is not appropriate; we don't have the death penalty for such crimes nor should we.

Make them liable. Disarm them. Move forward.
