That’s why trump refused to bail out states like ny. Cuomo wants to create his own state fda. What a waste of money. He should figure out why public school kids can’t go to school in nyc. Next time someone asks why an inner city kid doesn’t have the same opportunity as a suburban kid, I will point to him and deblasio agreeing to shut the schools down with the teachers union if the positivity rate gets to 3%, when the surgeon general says 10%. Cdc guidelines even say 3% is low risk. They know better though. Maybe ny should create its own cdc too and hire a surgeon general. They are setting back inner city minorities and ensuring they stay behind their white suburban counterparts

Forbes' said he's still a billionaire, on paper. He's not worth as much as he used to be, but most of it's tied up in assets, not cash. His properties are struggling. Even before Covid revenues were down because of his name and travel is in the toilet (people are golfing more than ever but how many are actually joining his clubs?). He owes close to 400M (that we know about). Melania will file for divorce next year (cha-ching for her) and he'll burn through cash fighting various legal cases. These won't be pro bono cases lol.

As for contributing to his own campaign? He didn't when he ran in 2016, so why would he now? He discovered a nation full of easily fooled rubes willing to fund it for him.

How much does it cost to have some scientists and public health expert review data? It isn't an ongoing thing, just a review. If it helps improve credibility with state residents why not A vaccine rollout won't be effective if enough people won't get it.

But I totally agree closing schools is bad idea, especially in cities or anywhere there's a large portion of low/middle income families. Their parents often can't work from home, and there's still issues with internet and computer access. Kids, especially K-8 aren't super spreaders. HS kids spread more like adults and can better handle remote learning so if you had to cut that's where you'd cut. However, schools all over are struggling with staff being out because they have to quarantine due to rising exposures. Finding substitute teachers is impossible.

NY as well as I think all other states have their own version of the cdc. They have been in existince for a very long time.

The problem with cuomo is that he is already on record stating we cann't allow TRUMP to roll out the vaccine during his tenure (because its bad for democrats), he stated we have to delay it until hes out of office so biden gets the credit for it.

He is worried that if Trump rolls out a bad plan it's going to be hard for Biden to fix it mid stream. It's not an unfounded concern given how monumental the task is AND the administration's horrible track record with testing and PPE supplies. We're 9+ months in and those problems still persist. The odds they get it right? Not good.

In rural parts of the country, even in NY state, access to those venues may be limited. Nor can your average CVS handle the onslaught and they're trying to run a business. Our family got the H1 N1 vaccine when it came out and we got it from our town health department who organized multiple days of vaccinations at a local gym. Very organized and efficient.
