One of the most tiresome and untrue statements out there is this ongoing chant that "nobody trusts mainstream media".

Why don't you say what you really mean? You don't trust any media source that doesn't support your predisposition on the big topics of the day. I'm quite sure you have a subset of media that you follow and tend to believe. Could be Fox and OANN, but you still watch them. Last I saw, Fox and OAN were part of the media in this country and they seem pretty mainstream to me. Just about available everywhere.

my guess is if what you say is true then they woudnt apply knowing that an ethics violation would soon follow and possibly legal action over some manner of fraud on the govt- but I also think they suits know a little bit more about A) the bill, and B) their qualifications in that bill

he has done fairly well appointing people and getting them through even with all the BS that the dems have thrown in his way (Kavanaugh as an example)

Trump views Congress as a waste of time (as im sure all Presidents due) ie. Obama and his pen. they want to get things done and would rather not spend the time dealing with children(Congress)

What did they start? Trump is an idiot. That much is clear. He literally writes all of the Dems ads for them just by talking. The GOP tried to impeach Clinton for lying about a BJ. In comparison that's child's play to what Trump was accused of doing. Clinton also cooperated with the investigation (unlike Trump) and managed to do while still running the country. Clinton had rape accusations, but not nearly as many as Trump. Trump tried to claim impeachment distracted him from Covid, until the timeline showed otherwise.
