It also isn't a coincidence that even our top students suck compared to the rest of the world. Why, because we don't teach STEM, even now we are changing it to STEAM. We teach social justice and how to be a victim.

Yes the teacher's union sucks in that regard. A good friend is one and some of the stories are nuts. But the union also fight for better pay and benefits for teachers. Teachers shouldn't need 2nd and 3rd jobs to make ends meet. Countries that treat teaching as serious professions (much of Europe, Japan etc) require even more teacher training than we do and pay them much better. You cannot deny that so called red states have lower teacher pay and poorer student outcomes than blue states that tend to spend more on education and teachers.
