Requiring 75 percent of all new power generation to be cleaner technology, ie solar, wind, hydro. I would require solar and wind projects use a certain percent American jobs and products. Large European wind manufacturers would have to open production facilities here if they wanted a piece of the action. This would create us jobs. Some of these facilities are going to have a negative impact on some other parts of the environment. Clear the regulatory path. Can’t wait 20 years for a permit after spending millions to get a permit. Mandate energy efficiency quicker in the us. Start with government. For example, mandate buses for schools to be electric. They are perfect cases. Charge over night. Use in am, then charge in late morning for use again in late afternoon. Short range vehicles. Make the buses or the parts in the us. I know it costs more to Change, but would rather spend the money to do that then give it to India or Somalia for them to not meet the intended goals. Put your money where your mouth is.
