No state statutes support this type of usurping of power and skirting the normal checks and balances. We have become china ... Maybe russia.

High school sports are a social event. The levels of all CT high schools is very low in every sport. It’s fun to play with your friends and in front of a lot of fans but let’s be real and not rush back. No sense in shutting school districts down

They did not shut down college football games because of data saying it wasn't safe...it was canceled due to intrastate travel and the logistics of having teams travel in from other states with higher numbers and travel bans in place from those states...CT teams do not travel out of state for games and given the low numbers should be allowed to play...period...this is purely a political decision

Probably why a much more politically active DPH head was installed

I wish we were FL or AZ.
They did much better then we did.
Maybe my mother-in-law would still be alive.

CN got hit hard early. Now though CN sits at a little under 55,000 cases and 4,485 deaths with a pop of 3.7M. AZ has a pop. of 7.3M and it has gotten whacked lately. 209,000 cases with 5,311 dead. FL is a disaster and getting worse. Pop. of 21M, has 665K cases and 12,641 dead. FL is doing the worst of any state, and, save for India and Brazil, the worst in the world.

Florida is full of old people. Makes sense.

My father in law is in Florida and ok at the retirement village.
But like I said my mother in law was here and died in a nursing home.
Governor did nothing to help CT nursing homes and killed the patients in nursing homes
Florida did a better job protecting the nursing homes.
This is just my families personal experience.
One family member is alive and one is dead.

Connecticut appears to be twice as deadly as FL.
                        Sorry for your loss.

Math is not your strong suit. Equating populations:

                            CT (CN) COVID Deaths: 26,785
                            FL COVID Deaths: 12,788

                            NY COVID Deaths: 36,540
                            FL COVID Deaths: 12,788

As the other poster said, CT more than twice as deadly, NY more than three times as deadly as Florida. And FL has the most elderly population of the aforementioned states.
