Seven states have no income tax and many others have much lower income and other taxes (including NH which is an option we're thinking about, close enough to reach Boston for activities). Retirement finances are important but don't base it just on that. Quality of living, medical care access, housing costs, proximity to frienfs and family...many things to consider.

FL has more cases per capita in the last 2 weeks than CT, and that's with the cases we know about since DeSantis likes to hide information. Better weather means more outdoor opportunities inFL; dry winter CT weather helps the virus spread more readily
Ha, dry winter's. Good excuse. CT has a 7 day death rate moving average of 30, FL 90. Problem is FL has 6 times the population. Equating the populations CT has a 180/day death rate versus FL's 90. How're all the taxes working out for you?

        CT's Covid Vaccine Information:
        https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/COVID-19-Vaccinations

Basically a bunch of useless words, link to the govern talking, link to advisory meetings (other people talking to each other). Perfect example of wasted government resources and bureaucracy.

        FL's Covid Vaccine Information:
        https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/

Full of useful information and data on the vaccine and where available. Florida prioritizing above 65 in first phase (and already vaccinating that population) versus CT maybe in May.

Not an excuse - that’s how it spreads. Humidity causes water droplets expelled to drop faster than dry air. It’s science. I wouldn’t get too fired up about FL. If you spent your whole like in the NE, you are in for a surprise for what life is like beyond spending a few weeks a year in a rental home. The Duke boys are nasty in the country, snakes/alligators in your yard, real estate is pricey in the few CT-like enclaves, and the tourists are annoying in the fun areas. Like isn’t all about low taxes - those taxes pay for things you have grown accustomed to having, you just do not realize what you and others around you have.

A fair amount of NYC residents are moving to CT and between insourcing those lost payroll taxes of NYC workers living in CT and now adding more we will finally see balanced budgets and reduction in taxes. It’s a cycle folks. FL and TX with more residents will need to increase theirs because the cost of living will rise (impacting the cost of labor funded by the state).

Seems the same to me. Try clicking the various tiles like Health and Safety for data or the Frequently Asked Questions for where you will be able to get it (once you are eligible also note eligibility rules based on roll out). I know you hate CT. It’s ok - we hate people like you. You are taking up space and that space is valuable. Go live in Lake County in a small ranch and twiddle your fingers looking for something to do in between tax filings.

Ha, FAQs would be useful if the information was correct. CT can't even get their COVID information straight. The Moderna Vaccine is 18+, not 16+. This is what my tax dollars produces:

              https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/CO...nations---FAQs

              Vaccine Age Requirements
              Pfizer 16+
              Moderna 16+ (Wrong!)

Florida is much more organized, vaccinating at a faster clip, and vaccinating the most vulnerable as priority, all with ZERO income tax.

He will be the GOP candidate in 2024. All the negative press about CV & Florida is the media trying to discredit him because they see how strong a candidate he is. He has time which will help him because time will show how well he did compared to others.
BTW the very liberal Atlantic Covid Tracking project gives the Florida data an A
                CT data gets a B

My Father in law (Florida) lives in a condo and in his 70’s. He signed up Saturday 12/26 for the vaccine and is getting it on Thursday 12/31. His location has opened up the vaccine to seniors who are not in LTC’s. Much more organized in FL.

Flat as a pancake too, nothing to look at except the water (if you can afford to live near it). Parts of it may soon be under water. Nice to visit, see our elderly relatives and hit Universal now and then, but not to live.
Beyond that, there is just a lack of culture and the absence of a cohesiveness of tradition , quite understandable in a state filled with a nearly endless supply of newcomers.

It’s a dump, with too many losers from elsewhere. Not cheap either if you want to be safe. Horrible drinking water , bugs, lizards all over , snakes , gators, no thanks.

Montana mandated masks on 7/15 when hospitalizations were very low, at 25 per million. Hospitalizations peaked on 12/10 at 451 per million, an increase of 1704%

Idaho didn’t mandate masks, and from 7/15-12/10 hospitalizations only went up 228%

                      How does that happen?

Florida and Texas are the only two states to not follow CDC's guidelines on vaccination priorities. In the next couple weeks you'll many others follow them.

CT vaccinating twice the rate as FL per 100K as FL. I know multiple docs,, nurses and 2 LTC patients who already got their first dose.

Baldwin's wife seems to be the issue. She has no meaning in her life except social media and pumping out babies. Alec keeps busy acting, doing rings with NPR and has a popular podcast. He has to keep making $to pay for all those kids

I am in FL and those numbers are not updated. FL is more then 3x that as reported here on the news.
But that is not the important part. Who gets it is very important. FL is getting it to the vulnerable. CT is giving it to health care works, many who are not vulnerable and have already had the virus. That is a true waste of the resources.
