The elderly, baby boomers, are the most selfish generation EVER. So I am confident they feel like the world must stop to protect them. That is how they roll.

the only ones mandating changes to your life are the state governments- they decide when and where you can eat and drink , if you can go to school or the gym, play sports etc...

If you did a few simple things than more 70 year olds can live a more normal life but clearly it's all about you you you.

they don't expect or want anyone to adjust their lives to suit you...they trust that if someone has had any kind of exposure that they will let them know so they can make their own decision...the last thing they want is a nanny state telling them what they can or cannot do

My parents are in their 70’s. They aren’t asking anyone to change their lives for them. They make their own choices and decisions on what they are comfortable doing. They feel the whole thing is ridiculous...and they would like to see their grandchildren live normal lives.

Do they see their grandchildren - live and in person, not on zoom calls? What about all the workers out there who fear going to work because they have preexisting health issues but can't work from home? The cancer patients and other immunocompromised people who also want to be able to go to appointments or see their families?

Do your phuking part for society and take it seriously. Wear a mask. Don't have parties or go to them. Don't' go to bars, order out, don't dine in. CT hasn't completely spun out of control yet like some states. Acting now can mean we get out of it faster alter on.

Yes they see their grandchildren.... if we have been traveling than no. And we are wearing masks... although at this point it’s hard to believe that they are doing much of anything at all.

Also, just because they wore masks outside the home doesn't mean they couldn't have gotten it from inside the home from another infected family member (which is a big source of transmission). The study was also done where there was "modest" transmission rates. Right now Denmark has a mask mandate because cases are going up there and across the EU.
