Plus, those other clubs just do a better job with training compared to the daddy approach OW implements.
Don’t forget Ginga and CT Rush

because you go watch all these OW games when your kid isn't on the team? That's just weird. Orrrrrr, you're a liar. Either way, you're f'd up. And don't say you see them play against your kids team, because you always say OW is too scared to play them. Unless you actually are correct with some of your statements, and your daughter plays on a nice little travel team that gets crushed by OW all the time.

Actually the other poster is spot on. Oakwood definitely cuts and the cut players outside of the Oakwood system are not very good. Even their good players outside do the system struggle. Oakwood has also increased taking kids from other clubs; must notably ginga and rush. To be fair, CFC does this all of the time with United and has done it longer. Fsa does too, but they get the scraps.

Why does this keep getting presented like a problem though? OW should just develop kids into an MLSN team simply because they live nearby? No....the boys find OW when they are ready to drive past their old club to play in a higher level competition.

Ginga, Sporting, Rush....they are all the same. They top out in the USYS National Conferences if they happen to catch lightning in a bottle with a group of kids. That might be fine, but for some its not. MLSN and ECNL draw.

ohhhh right, 2015. not like this year when the Gingas of the world were playing Shelton and Vale. Doesn't matter if MLSN or OW is "not like it used to be" its still better than nearly anything you are getting at an EDP club.

Not always. Depends on what your options are, how good the coaching is, what your goals are, where you fit on a roster.

That's true anywhere, including CFC ECNL/FSA/College D1/ etc.,....

Hats off to the 2005 OW GA team. Great run at Nationals.

I think it is safe to say they are superior to CFC and FSA at that age group.

Good for them but that doesn't mean they're a superior team. They play in a weaker league and unless the teams have played against each other a few times recently there's no way to really judge who is stronger. Well, ok we know FSA isn't stronger....
