No FSA kids though, so that means FSA sucks.

    That's science.
Nobody in their right mind would drive from greater Farmington multiple times per week for practice at the Revs and then do games. Those other kids are likely from Eastern/Northern CT or are vagabonds. No other way to make it work. Believe me, I’ve tried to attend my fair share of Red Sox games commuting from central CT for a 7pm start. It’s complete madness on I-90; no one in their right mind would do that. That’s science.

Commuting there would be the definition of RetAARded.

Yet it does happen occasionally. Also they practice at Foxboro not downtown like your Sox example. Some people commute to NYCFC and Red Bulls too. Some psycho dad drags his daughter to PDA in NJ. I'm not saying it's rational but it happens

While it’s Foxboro, you basically hit traffic only after a few exits into I-90. Can’t imagine that almost daily.

What about the other freaks that went to Stars? Same trip to revs but go left off of mass Pike instead and pay a boatload to do it.

And yet some families do it. Some go to NYC for MLS clubs.. Sometimes it's the best thing for the player, sometimes it's futile.

Making the trek for free to play MLS is a little easier to justify (for the right player as someone said above) than pay to play club with other closer options. Those Stars players would be just fine playing locally. Of course nothing compares to PDA dad. Wait until they're inundated with high school homework or want to do more normal teenage stuff vs be in a car all the time.

But his kid plays there! The must have posted the wrong result.

It's SJ .... No inundation of homework there.

I looked. Somers (CFC), Hebron (OW), and 2 in Glastonbury (one CFC, one OW... according to the Revs site).

My 3 seconds of searching didn't find youth rosters for NYRB.

But like someone said... best facilities in the northeast with (one would assume) top coaching, teammates, and competition for the right kid and family structure? At least the Glastonbury kids can carpool.

And good for those kids if this is what they want to do.

Exactly, good for those kids. Not sure why people care so much about what others choose to do?

                        Simply using the Somers example:
Drive time to CFC Park - 1:11
Drive time to Foxborough - 1:27

                        Big deal.

ok you drive to Foxboro because you have a boy. You drive to CFC park because you have a girl. No boy is choosing between The Revs and CFC ECNL boys. Revs or OW or BS "maybe" and the only hesitation would be the distance. If you can tolerate the distance you go with the MLS club every time, even the Revs (who finally have a new coaching team after years of neglect)

Why does everyone make it out like every player has the choice to play wherever they want? Most don’t. This kid did, he made the obvious choice. Play for free with the best facilities at the highest level.

Guess what, using the same example, if you’re a girl from Somers and you could play at the highest level and you’re a U13, U16, U17 or U19 player you don’t drive to CFC Park either, you drive to the FC Stars complex.

Lots of ifs but IF my son was good enough and IF we were able to get him to Foxboro as needed and IF he was willing to make it worth everyone's time and effort, of course I'd do it from central CT.

And every blowhard dad on here wishes they had that same opportunity.
