Soccer is the only sport that believes paying coaches and specialized "training" is what will create winning teams at the highest level. It doesnt work that way in any other sport. Winning and having that edge and will to win is part of development.

Winning can be one of the consequences of proper development.
Proper training can develop the athlete regardless of the insertion of results from competition.
It is a team sport. Even the most highly developed athlete may never win on a team when playing against a better team.

CFC and FSA play each other 2x per year. They are in the same league. Both play friendlies against Oakwood.

CFCU Ecnl, ECNL2 and oakwood all play friendlies against Yankee. Maybe try asking them. Odds are they will play. The real issue is your club won’t ask them for their business purposes

Yes it is but when it becomes the main measure for success in development then you're failing the player. Winning should matter as soon as you play, after all it's the purpose of competiton. Again, just shouldn't be the main focus. At younger ages focus should be technical, that ranges from dribbling, weight of pass, ability to play out of pressure, proper defensive styles then obviously switch to tactical, positions and their, formations, how to defend in blocks, weak points to attack if a team is in a 4-4-2 diamond.

But if you have a team with some good athletes who are decent w the ball and you can just kick ball your way to wins, shouting on the sidelines with your cool foreign accent, are you really developing players even though you're winning?
