Tournament champions are sometimes decided by goal differential which is understandable why scores would get run up. Don’t hate the club, hate the rules

Not the poster but it's pretty classless to beat up on clearly inferior teams. Plus , this OPI, not the national championships we're talking about. It's a small, local, meaningless event.

I the travel coach cant teach the crying girls a life lesson after a good old fashioned beat down, then they should not attend and keep playing in travel events where they can hand out orange slices after a win. Not helping anyone keeping them in a bubble. Just like a boy will dump them in the future, this will help them get mentally tough

Or maybe find an event that's a better fit - competitive but not blowouts? Why does OW invite travel teams - desperation? Teams that win huge/lose huge aren't likely to return the next year.

Yet they do, because the state soccer community is conned into thinking Oakwood is still a prime destination. The truth is they haven’t been for a while now. Don’t worry; those same travel clubs will keep coming back for more because they feel it’s an honor to be beat by Oakwood. And Oakwood will keep inviting them because it allows them to keep up the illusion of superiority. And they need the money. It’s worked well for them.

My kids 2013 team can beat a travel rec 2003 team 20 zip. Big whoop. Oakwood people suck. Sell some more juju bees at your card table behind glastobury high. Omg

"Invite"? Haha .... Here's why. It's their biggest recruiting event if the year and they make a boatload of cash to do it ... Well, they used to.

no one recruits at OPI. It's a money maker for the club, and thats' fine. No issue with that. But don't pretend it's a prestigious event because it's not.

of course they do ... they "showcase" their teams to make little travel kids want some of that. Plus, plenty of window shopping going on if an OW coach sees a talented kid on the field.

It's official. OW GA teams to allow HS play. Going to be interesting to see what happens going forward with GA and EDP teams. May have a true A team .... or not . Going to be a tough sell for EDP now that OW has lifted the restriction...or vice versa given the travel costs of GA.

They can only run one team. Trying to do two is a joke - there just aren't enough strong players. Desperate move and probably too little too late.
