The only ones giving up high school are the ones that choose to, if they want to play HS the opportunity is there... as you probably know Oakwood has more than one team at each age group. Everyone has a choice and the choice is theirs for whatever works for them

Oakwood no longer has two teams at every level far from it. They are hurting and the on field results show this. They will take any kid who have parents that write check. Truth be told those yellow stand up players on the field have more skill and size then some kids playing in the GA

Oakwood's best team in the last decade which basically had every player recruited was accepted and played at PDA a few times. The event was hugely beneficial for the team even thought they weren't in the top flight. Those flights are typically reserved for the top dogs in the ECNL. There's only been one team in CT in recent years that played in those brackets.
The allure of the ECNL is the exposure through the showcase events. An automatic bid to PDA is alone is worth it for college bound athletes. That is without a doubt the very top showcase in the country. IF other teams from the club were accepted they'd go in a heartbeat especially with DA dissolved.
PDA gets 400+ coaches at their event. They represent every level and shop every level of talent. Is Duke coming to watch the two work U16 teams square off? Probably not but if one of them has a stud, they might. Being on the fields at PDA is prize, no one cares about results in a showcase.
While I realize you are defending you kids soccer club, why the need to make stupid and uninformed comments? It's a poor look and honestly not how the majority of us who actually understand this process feel about it.

Very true. PDA is the single most important Showcase event for girls soccer players. The reason the CFC United ECNL class of 2019 and 2020 players in CT were mostly all D1 commits was due to the fact that they were on good ECNL teams that played in the top brackets each year at PDA. Conversely, the class of 2021 played in a bottom bracket when they were sophomores in HS and then Covid cancelled the event their Junior year. If these same girls competed at PDA in May, they would all be committed by now

We have 30+ kids a year in CT move onto D1 programs, most play on mediocre club teams. There’s basically been one team in CT in recent history that was consistently playing in the top flights in these events and that’s CFC 2002 which are now in college. Everyone else is just average.
The only truth you are telling is that your kid targeted wrong

If no one came to see your kid it's because they weren't interested. She overshot her target. If you can’t get coaches to come see you, you're not doing it right.
