Apparently you do NOT know the CFC United way. Not 1 kid ever gets cut. The always have the option for a spot the next year. The only way you make the team is by trying out during a United practice or a special kids.
So, CFC Moms and Pops will be ok. There will be no crow to be eaten. If they accepted kids, the number is MUCH lower than you think were taken, if the United team was even on the table.
The worst case, the rosters just grew.
So enjoy your crow mouthpiece! Next time understand what clubs do before putting your foot in your mouth. Continue on as being an idiot now!

        $5,000? You clearly don't have a Mia.

This is half true. OW has some great coaches but they have some really weak ones too. Before it didn't matter as much but now why would you keep your kid on a team where the coach sucks?

When this is over if OW were smart they would invest in some real great coaches to plug the holes and get rid of the dead weight or make them assistants.

OW is bleeding money even more so now that US Soccer cant prop them up, add to that a decline of top players and their future is on thin ice. OW has never been in this position. Prior to 2007 they were one of the few clubs around and considered perhaps the top club in the state. After 2007 the addition of Boys DA bolstered that perception. Adding GDA was an attempt to bolster it even more. Now they lost all of their selling points. What value does OW provide now? No top tier league means no reason to pay a premium, nor to drive extra distance to participate in their "programming". In the past they had certain things they could hang their hats on, suddenly they lost all of that and have taken several steps back on the boys and girls side simultaneously. The future is dim there.

OW is getting the boys MLS league. Every team that gets MLS league remains a destination.

Issue is on girls side. Here is the main thing though and people need to remember it, just being in the top 3-4 on OW does not mean you automatically slide into a guaranteed starting spot and 90% of the minutes if you switch to CFC (maybe it does for FSA?). Some of these girls have to really think, is it worth the risk to jump to an existing ECNL squad and fight for minutes or do I see how the new league does first year, keep getting maximum time at OW and then look to jump later IF necessary? This is not an easy decision for anyone and whatever you think of GDA, it sorta sucks that USSF created this disaster.

The future is dim if they don't take this shutdown opportunity to fix their weaknesses and roll out a strong program when things open back up. The ball is in their court. Let's see what they do with it.

My kid played ECNL at FSA. Pick the mic up. That's littering.

The problem with the MLS league is that MLS doesn't even know how this will work. Sounds like yet another experiment doomed for failure.

spending a ton of dough to lose ecnl games, travel big $'s and end up at springfield college

If they own that property outright in Glastonbury, the indoor facility, they could sell it to a developer for a pretty penny. They could downsize to Portland and other fields for outdoor only. Considering the COVID situation, indoor soccer may be a thing of the past.
