Who will come watch this independent league of former tier 2 DA clubs?
Go play ECNL & HS.
See if you can be recruited to play in college(if it’s still around).

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYes, much easier for college scouting. Another big change in favor of ECNL will be YNT scouting for girls. There will be one main platform to focus on. No more NTCs of mostly DA teams, no more jabs by US Soccer that note the number of DA players that made the youth national teams.
doesn't matter what league it is

Pre-GDA:
1) Training Centers were held on almost a monthly basis
2) A solid mix of clubs and leagues representing
3) Scouting networks were larger, top men and women of coaches across the country
4) One head US Staff Scout evaluator per market
Post-GDA:
1) Training Centers held twice a year. One fall, One Spring
3) To supplement the lack of training centers above US Soccer scouts would view GDA games but hardly ever view ECNL games.
2) The mix of participants in Training Centers shifted heavily to GDA players. For example, a recent Training Center in the NE had 7 players out of total of 15 from one NE GDA club at one event. The rest were mostly GDA players as well. A couple ECNL players. That was unheard of in the past. A clear bias by US Soccer and there were rumors that GDA clubs were using this as bait to attract players to their league.
3) Scouting networks moved to primarily to women only
4) One head US Staff scout for the whole east coast. Impossible for one person to do this effectively.

OW letter sent to parents sounds like “we don’t know what league we will be playing in, but we will let you know when we m know”

depends. if there's no ability to trial at a new club then theyre mostly stuck whetre they are for at least a season. also the girls letter definitely did NOT say 10 month program.

Why are so many people enamored with HS soccer? The vast majority of HS teams just play kick ball. They are full of town travel team talent with lousy coaching. Rampant favoritism, lousy fields, petty kids not passing the ball to a select teammates. Sounds awesome...
