Yes, let's stop the nonsense. The 2006 GDA team couldn't beat their awful NPL team. I don't care if it was their worst day ever and their top 3 players were not there!! This should never happen ... the game should never even be close if the correct kids are on the correct teams. I can't imagine how that GDA team would have fared in the league that the NPL team struggled in. Olympics or not, something is quite amiss in this age group. I bet the NPL girls wish they played in the easier GDA division as well so they could have gone undefeated too ..... HOW CAN YOU EVEN EXPLAIN THIS?! Have you NO pride? It's embarrassing. Apparently, they are close and at this point, it seems as if the NPL team has the advantage in head to head play.

Anyone who knows OW knows their biggest struggle is talent identification. They seem to always go for the big oafs that head down dribble and pass to nobody, or the other team. However they foul people really good, have big legs and can knock people out by slamming them into the boards.

It is not surprising they have better athletes and players with higher soccer IQ on their NPL team than their GDA team.

On the boys side the kids they play up are some of the worst players on the team that is their appropriate age. But they foul really good and can kick the ball really hard. It is kinda like that commercial for the no lunk heads at the gym. Instead of "I pick things up I put them down" it is more like "I push you down, I kick ball really hard"!

i see that susa (ecnl) had some friendlies with oakwood recently. I know this might be a silly request, but wondering for a fair assessment of how oakwood gda stacked up against an ecnl club that had some teams do well overall in the ne division last year.

And i get they were "friendlies" etc etc. And it was all about development yadda yadda

This same SUSA team will beat CFC 17s 4-0 in league play. CFC has awful coaches, poor training regimens, no style of play and no hope for this team. The players all feel it, the club has written them off. The club will come on this site and blame players, parents and overall lack of talent

You all are crazy if you think the oakwood NPL team is better then the Oakwood DA team. I have seen both multiple times. My daughter played both last season and plays in the NPL league (so it isnt very hard to figure out what club). We beat Oakwood NPL soundly and it easily could have been much worse. We also played a friendly against the DA team and Oakwood DA beat us up pretty good.

SUSA dominated our game (U18/19) and looked great in the 16 age group. I'm not sure in others, but ECNL is better competition in those age groups.

No NPL team should be beating a GDA team - in theory anyway. Reality is many GDA teams are NPL level and should have stayed there. But in USSF's scramble to fill holes they took who they could get.
