OW still develops players more than capable of playing in your kid's little domain. If a player tries out and is a good or better fit for the position than ones you have developed, you take them. The best will play for the best, not Rocket Science.

I know a few OW parents and they are so silly. My kid is going pro. Ahh excuse me? Your kid is in middle school. Yes, my kid will play on national team. That's great buddy. Good stuff. Now go throw your kid's high school years away. Dope. At least be realistic about what your kid is doing. OW parents are stooges

If I lived near Hartford I'd have my kid go to Oakwood. It's the best option around there. But I live in Fairfield County so my kid plays ECNL. All these arguments back and forth need to take into account people make these decisions in large part on where they live.
