Parent's and players invest a lot of time and money in the u9 - u13 years hoping it will pay off in technical ability & understanding. It's is truely a crap shoot. It's a hard pill to swallow for parents when a u15 player shows up from a travel team and takes their kids spot because they are a better player because puberty was kind to them. It sucks for them but that is life and that is sports and that is just how it is.

It doesn't always play out that way but certainly very frequently. Girls tend to go through it in a tighter time table so by HS it's more sorted out. Boys can be all over the place, so the later bloomers can struggle against the 15 year who could pass for 21.

But they must stick it out and many don’t.

Can’t post results for a game that has happened yet? “This weekend” I think means the game will happen this weekend.

Question - I was looking at OW results (considering it for my kid next year....long story why). Why is it the U19s had no games mid September to next week? I know there is a December showcase, but there's also no league games on the books from mid November to Mid March. Yes, it's winter and many clubs are doing mostly training then. But a month off in the fall? 3 months off in the winter? Again, yes, I know DA is about the training but never playing games gets boring for players and doesn't give them a chance to implement what they are working on.
