It's my understanding they are "driving 2 hours each way a few days a week" to play there.

If all ECNL teams are great, why would one do that?

OW girls team was mid range in GDA. Smoked at each national event but apparently good enough for the mighty NE ECNL ? Stars are just taking anyone for them B teams? In MA stars has become the laugh and every B ecnl parent waits for the whistle before coming out of them BMW's to watch to talking about kids placement.

        Asking for a friend...
Here's the reality. Parent's egos drive this behavior.

CFC has put plenty of kids into top programs in the last few years. ACC schools etc. Next year's class has kids going to Michigan, Ohio State and Georgetown. In fact, CFC's 2020 class is top to bottom better than Stars. Might be an outlier but it shows that the Coaches can get the appropriate exposure for the players.

If an OW kid chooses to commute to Central Mass (Lancaster) 4 times per week for a perceived advantage....good for them. FSA definitely does not offer the same track record or connections and the soccer is ugly.

All three programs do however play in the same events, on the same dates and on the same fields.

Yes, I agree. Parents' egos absolutely drive the behavior coming on and touting one club's record over another's.

            Kids don't care.

I'm still puzzled by the assertion that there is an ECNL club that isn't supah-doopah.

              Nope, no slant there....
I never said, "CFC is intelligent...just that parents are idiots". They jump anywhere and everywhere for baby girl Mia. I just wouldn't drive 2 hours and sacrifice my kids studying for school, the cost of gas and time and the chance my kid burns out because it becomes a salesmen job traveling so much.

Price is close to the same, coaching is similar.....Sanity in the car rides would be brutal.

Good point. I forgot they have two teams. That explains why Stars and not CFC. Even Stars B team is probably better than FSA plus a shot at making A at some point if you're good.

FSA shouldn't even be in ECNL any longer. If the league wasn't battling it out for market share they might get tossed.

Aahh, so what you are saying is that there are teams in ECNL that shouldn't be there? That's interesting. I hadn't heard that.

I've heard how there are poor teams in other leagues, but not in ECNL. How prevalent is this?

What??? Drive 2 hours for NPL....Are you nuts!
It would be Stars East or West ECNL or the parents really are idiots.

No, these are both "ECNL" teams. One is just treated like 2nd class citizens, but pay the same.

Most of the NE ECNL clubs are pretty solid - except FSA. It's actually gone downhill since they bought out S+, which was already not that great. GDA has plenty of deadwood as well. Pick the best training and fit (do you want HS or not? believe in GDA or not?) for you. If you're any good and work hard the rest will fall into place. Don't sweat the patch so much

Much like how girls are treated at OW.

Yes, there is deadwood in both places. But, the overwhelming opinion is there wood is much less dead in ECNL and it's everywhere in GDA.

The admission it exists at all is sort of surprising. Goes against 10,000 comments I've read on here.

I do agree a patch is useful to wipe my ass with, that's about it.

Nah, FSA ECNL girls U14s, U15s, U17s better than CFC's.
