Yes, promotion and relegation and the "clubs owning your kids" from day one of play. Thats how it works. People really dont get it here. They (in EU and elsewhere) own your kid and can sell/trade or whatever them and make coin. SAs the kid gets better and trade or sold up, everyone in the chain gets a chunk of the transfer fee if done correctly. SO lets say the revs get your kid and they get pulled to Miami FC for coin, the revs get a piece, and then later in the career go to Bourissa or whatever, they get a chink then too. all the way down the line everyone gets a piece. Thats the incentive to develop and build kids.
The revs get 0 for doing anything as it stands if a kid moves on. Luckily/unluckily any US kid without dual citizenship cant go to the EU and play. It just is not possible. All this silly Pulisic talk neglects to speak of the dual passports...... You cant say, I'm taking my kid to Italy or Spain unless you have a passport from an EU country... Theyre an international player an it aint happening. People think they can do it and theyre kid is stuck in limbo, no games, no visability, just stuck in Spain cooling out...... Whatever I digress

Of course payments are a HUGE issue. But that isn't going to change due to US laws and parental apprehension at signing their kids away. Few like Pulisic will have the ability to go to Europe before they're 18 on a permanent basis. But they could go train there for shorter periods of time if clubs/USSF worked to help make that happen more often. Doesn't cost them anything really, and a player comes back after three months more skilled to help their team even if they never go any further than that. Also makes the club look better as a conduit for international exposure.
USSF needs to find better ways to operate within the construct of the US systems, families, education....They keep trying to be Europe. We're not and won't be anytime soon.

USSF should just make everyone run their program like NYRB. Massive pay to play RDS program more than funds DA. And then players incentivized to sign homegrown contracts b/c they see how Miazga got picked up by Chelsea. NYRB gets dirt cheap $70k top talent for several years then $5mm x-fer fee. They are running the same trick with Tyler Adams. They will get paid $$ when Barca comes calling for him but in the meantime get a great box to box midfielder for minimum wage.

Or worse, Beachside. If you're any good find a way to get to an MLS club. The Revs used to be an option for Northern CT players but they've really gone down the cra*per. Several CT players go to NYCFC and even RBs

Ahhhh, the disgruntled TS Ahole emerges with an ax to grind w OW.
Its ok, your kid got cut and you are personally offended. Its ok, please just move on with your life. You are more hurt than your kid. You are embarrassing your kid right now.
Honestly, if your kid got clipped its because of one of three reasons (same reasons everywhere be it OW BS CFC FSA whatever, really).
1. Level of play over their head, it happens with every sport, not a big deal or reference to how great your kid really is as a person, maybe theyre not technical enough, fit enough, fast enough, tough enough mentally, whatever. It is the same for LAX, Football, Hockey, badmitten, whatever. No reflection on you as a parent.
2. Theyre not a 'decent citizen" of the group they play with. All families and kids know the kid who is a ahole on the team. They lack any personal accountability- all the passes they miss are because some else, all the scores let in are because someone else, all the goals missed are beacuse the kid shooting sucks, we all know that kid - the one always yelling some other kids name to draw heat off how bad they are. They usually hang on as long as their dad/mom is the coach, then they slowly disappear from the lineup..... They get voted off the island.
3. The parent is a crazy person (sounds a lot like you the way you are acting, just saying, this is probably you). Again, everyone knows "this" parent. Their kid should be starting, their kid shouldnt be subbed. The coach doesn't know what they are doing. They're the ones calling the coach all the time, they're the ones charging the field at the end of practice to get face time about their kid and their plans for their kid. They're the ones who tell all the other parents how they talked to the coach about whatever (the coach loathes you). Theyre also the ones who move their kid every year or very often because they didnt like something (you learn this real quick when you talk to them, they'll let you know about the old club and how they didnt treat their kid right)
Your kid probably got clipped because you are the problem. Keep on hatin' and would you like fries with that? Please pull around to the second window. LOL.

The USA are light years away from being relevant on the mens side. you could introduce pro/rel etc and overhaul the entire system tomorrow, its not going to change that

Because it really does not have to be at the expense of anything, but keep telling yourself that
