Even if you love the game, it will not love you back. Unless you are USWNT, it is not worth it. I would advise against my 22 or 23 year old foregoing starting her career or grad school to chase that folly. It's simply a fools errand.

Are you a "life" coach? And how you parent your kid is your business.
Some people make decisions based on other things than money. Some kids play for the love of the game and the adventure. Is your love based on monetary reward?

Well - some kids may opt to do a year or two just to play while they are young and it all depends on their backgrounds. Rich kids arent worried. Some kid smay say well, a year or two of pro and i can try to get paid in europe or go into the workforce and be able to tell stories about playing pro sports at lunches and dinners. And some say hey many careers can start at 24 rather than 21, so a couple years to enjoy the experience is worth it.

Then you have kids who either want to start their career or do something that requires continued education and thats all fine, too. And finally the ones whose parents demand they go to work or school, regardless of what the recent college grad wants to do. These people love to tell other people what they shoulda done. They're often quite fun at social gatherings.

Some people receive stimulus checks as well. Everyone chooses a path in life. Doesn't mean that one is right or wrong but decisions early in life impact retirement, ability to own a home etc.

Face it. This is a decision that impacts a tiny fraction of a percent. The focus is playing for a few years in college, getting an education, finding career. Soccer can remain in your life as an adult player, coach, ref whatever

but you would let your kid take a gap year and smoke dope through europe for fun
not knocking it if you can pull it off

for the kids that have the opportunity (only a small % of them will take it)if they still have the itch whats the harm in letting them scratch it? it a life experience like all the others
the next 40 years will still be there, and Companies love accomplished athletes

Hey, we need the U12-U16 girls teams in Portland to shovel now. Do. Not. Skip. This. Mandatory. Conditioning. Training.

Not a bad idea, problems living in NE bring, so if you want to compete with warmer climate clubs and team have to clear fields to hope to get out later this month.

We can shovel even when it’s dark because we have lights!

Please don't rip up the turf anymore we need to play in the spring. If you could avoid the areas that would be great

I am sure the suspect was black and black-on-black crimes (10,000x the volume of white on black) are allowable .... no one apparently cares. Want to fix the issue of violence against blacks, address the black-on-black crimes first. If that was resolved first it would make far more difference to the lives of minorities in urban areas.

PS - I'll bet $100 that BLM, NAACP, Al Sharpton, and Ben Crump dont get involved in this one!
