Anyone who stays on that is not happy with the arrangment is a fool. Will be very easy to get money back if you paid any at all at this point.

This is so dumb. At 10 or 11, you try out for a team, not a coach. If I’m to believe the above, there were no tryouts and there was no coach annnouncemt until well after that time period and my lord, who cares. How many coach assignment change in summer?!

Not the poster....a club should at least be able to tell families their next coach might be Coach A or Coach B. If most of a club's coaches seem suitable (for your needs) then stay. If you only want one coach and no one else you may wind up very disappointed. Sometimes coaches need to be moved, certainly some will leave, even in season. And if a club only has one decent coach chances are the club is crap.

If a club changes the team your kid was supposed to be on or league they're playing in then there's an argument to be made. Not so much with who coaches. Note that the contract you agree to is intentionally vague and favors the club.

You should always be trying out for the coach. A team with a bad coach is not worth it.

In an ideal world of course but the coach can change no matter what a club promises you. If a club has a lot of crap coaches, stay away. If they're mostly solid then go for it and hope it works out. Being on a right fit team matters as well, regardless of the coach.

If a club bait and switches, then stay away from the entire club as well. It's dishonest and a very bad business practice.

Sometimes it's out of a clubs hands if they have an unexpected number leave (warning flag). They should at least say it will be either him or her. Notice they never ever put the coach in the contract you sign? Not every replacement is going to worse either. We lost a coach once to another team in the club and the new one was fantastic.

If the coach remains with the club, it is bait and switch, period!

Ok, an exception can happen, but clubs should tell players and parents who the expected coach is going to be prior to making them fork over thousands of dollars.

meanwhile, FSA is infamous for not even telling the kids/parents what team they made until they fork over thousands of dollars.

Totally false. Been with FSA for years, they always tell you what team you are on when they make the offer. But they don’t always tell you who the coach will be.

This has been my experience as well. We also routinely beat CFC and OW teams with the Elite team.
