Funny you say that. Exactly no one beat that game code or using one type of attack. Why does our club try to play midfielders at literally every position? It’s just…so…weird. I guess everyone in jersey must be a midfielder too. Hard to have a sense of team if everyone approaches the game the same way in every position.

The director position is ceremonial at best in a soccer club unless they are going to be allowed by ownership to change the talent selection and development formula. Right now this club is recruiting and developing dozens of midfielders at each age group in uLittle and when they grow into teenagers they are without key central positional players center backs and strikers who must play differently than the midfielders they are developing to be successful. Because this is MLSnext and one sacrifices HS soccer there simply aren’t a lot of kids who look and play like strikers and CBs willing to make a leap of faith to Portland. I don’t know how to be more clear than this. Don’t believe me? Look at the age appropriate positions of each kid playing up - midfield. Result are low goals for and high goals against.

Some are quite good, but you cannot put together a winning 11 with a bunch players that are a carbon copy of each other. The club record reflects that.
