Find the best team at your son's respective age group. The club doesn't matter. They need to be around best players to get better. The best training together is what will help your kid develop the coaching is the same at every club.

Not if the op's kid isn't a good fit for that "best" team. Find the best fit AND coaching for your kid and the next level up that seems appropriate. The best team may not be the best fit for any one player. If the player makes good progress then maybe they move up the ladder again.

To be honest you should start with what club is most convenient to your location as at that age you want balance and time to be a kid not life in a car. Superstars can switch before high school no issues.
