Rondo was tucked into the backpack and left a few years ago. His brethren Kickenrun remains, however.

Oakwood needs to consolidate with someone. They need new blood. RD and DF are too old and have let the entire club fall apart. The forgot about the girls and now the boys are a shell of what they used to be. It’s sad

Legacy? They ran a soccer club in CT. They were the first on the scene. They made their money and they are looking to retire. It was always about money.

You are proud of being one of the first premier clubs in the area, but you practically fell into it. Either way you took the risk and earned reward for a time. The culmination was earning a national developmental academy status. Who else could have at that time? You were a destination for talented players and coaches on the boys side. There were a few cracks but it was easy to ignore because you had a strong pipeline. Then the pandemic hit and the MLS teams executed their long awaited plan to tighten their grip on elite youth soccer. You were shut out of that, later thrown a bone by being able to play in the same league as them. But without the national designation the prior cracks grew. All the things you were able to ignore before when there wasn’t much competition or when you were a destination. Every year those cracks grow due to your continued inaction. Had you not been a first mover your initial product would need to be as good or better than the competition. It’s just not enough to create a brand and own your own fields - sporting has that. Even AJAX has its own indoor facility. This is the moment in sports where you realize the game has left you behind. What you do next defines your legacy. You have a plaque on the CT Hall of Fame, but with each passing year it just looks like you stumbled upon a business to make money selling soccer and not a true great of the local game. So which is it? Everyone is watching.

Great let’s take the plaque down then. Because it was just about the money and nothing to do with building up the game in CT.

Stop playing up as if the club had some greater purpose or significance. If it was truly significant why don't any of their former players support them now?
