It's sad that this tournament has become a former shell of itself. It's also sad that CT teams, such as my kid's, are traveling to MA this weekend to play other CT teams for 2 out of their 3 games. Such a waste of time and money... hopefully one day clubs will stop the madness and play in state.

The DOC's in CT all hate each other they don't know how to simply put their dip**** egos aside and keep it local there is no need for your EDP teams to travel out of state to play in a tournament on any holiday weekend. Imagine playing soccer in state and then enjoying the rest of the day by the pool or at bbq with your family instead of some bull**** hotel.

In an ideal world yes that would be better for players and families - and their wallets. But the youth soccer landscape isn't structured that way. Unless families are willing to take those steps backwards - and they're not - nothing will change. Clubs and leagues have a new supply of fresh meat every year.

In an ideal world yes that would be better for players and families - and their wallets. But the youth soccer landscape isn't structured that way. Who traveled out of state to play ct teams . We only drove 1hr and 20 min and played great academy teams from canada and mass. You should be challeneged . Its fun too play teams you never played win or lose . Its about developing. I do ageee to a point with you on some aspects though. FSA went 5 hours out for zero reason . They could of joined tournaments a lot closer where they played a mix of edp national,ecnl , academy teams . That to me makes no sense. Clubs will look to play far away and act like thats the answer to better competition but in reality all the competition youll ever need is in ct mass ri ny etc.

It doesn't work that way. Chances are those other local teams are in different leagues that don't play one another.

Complain to your club, or better yet don't join that club knowing you will travel to events.

Move to Florida or California or N NJ. We don’t have enough people here to produce enough talent to attract enough good coaches for your fantasy to play out
