Yolo guys. Where’s the ceiling? Staying in CT is a ceiling of sorts relative to coaching and teammates that can feature your talents. Not involved here, but it’s not lost on me that if someone has better anticipation and execution that you cannot get the resulting play unless other players can match it. As Gretzky said, “skate to where the puck is going to be”. A fine quote for a striker perhaps, but what if you are the playmaker? I don’t know this girl, but I have this same problem with my kid who thinks and reacts faster than his teammates and he plays to where they should be (if they only anticipated his next move upon winning the ball and hence moving into space upfield for a quick transition). It’s actually really annoying to be on a team like that as a player (or the parent watching because you know what is happening and why). Again don’t know the girl and cannot stand OW but it’s a real problem in my book. We may one day be a similar story you write about. Some people see the game differently. This unfortunately isn’t a game of individuals so a persons best talents usual require collaboration/quid pro quo. What good is a sick pass or fancy sequence if someone flubs the shot or gets defeated by the defender?

It's NOT the other players. She's leaving b/c the coach sucks. She's NOT leaving because of colleges - she has plenty of colleges interested in her. It's the bad coaching. The team is great. All of them are talented.

You must be an OW parent obvs. Yes your kid is the bomb, best player on the team, surrounded by inferior players, he's just soooo good it's a shame no one is on his level. Rinse, repeat from every OW parent ever. Is it something in the water at that place that makes parents insane? No words for folks like you. It's pretty typical and standard to hear this from OW parents. They all think their kids are the best. Attend a practice and you will hear them screaming at their kids as if it is the World Cup. Place is a disaster zone.

No one at OW (or anywhere in CT .... mostly anywhere in the US) ever says "Timmy pass" (let alone give Timmy the hook when he has turned the ball over 10 times in a row) .... that is the problem.

this is the same coach that the owners of ow had to send an email to the parents of the players that he coaches because of complaints about his treatment of the female players and they continue to keep him around as a coach?
