OW U17 dad - the rest of the teams can barely even be called mediocre, some are just outright bad. That team is the outlier and you know it.

Let us know where the kids get recruited to though ok! Especially since for those top programs, U17/juniors is very late in the process. Many have locked in their top picks already, especially for serious money.

No one is mad about the kids and we hope they fulfill their dreams. But stop pretending OW is great. It isn't. And it is in a weaker league. That's just a FACT.

It is rare in CT that one club is consistently "great". Typically it is one or two age groups, and the rest average to poor. I don't think there is any doubt that the 2005 OW team is far better than CFC and FSA at that age group. Just watch each team play, and it will be very apparent.

and the coaching sucks at ow. 05 team can win without a coach and they proved that this year....

Congrats to the OW 05 team from a (former) opponent in DA/GA and now in ECNL. I said it earlier, but from my experience playing in both leagues the 05 team is in the Stars Blue/World Class category. Top 3 teams in the two leagues at that age group.

Good job representing New England well on the national stage.

Congratulations to the team and coach. It's a big accomplishment...but the club and league are still mediocre. This team is an outlier @OW, and only about 20% of the league good.

And most of them not too far removed from other clubs. Coach is still an idiot. Will be difficult for Oakwood to aggregate any talent in the future given their current state, coaches, and league ..... not to mention high costs. At least they finally re-turfed those fields!

I literally just sat through a tournament watching 1 ow team after another especially the girls get smoked. The girls teams couldn’t beat sporting or vale. Good luck to the ‘05 team because this is a 1 and done.

its great that 05 group of girls won the GA National Championship, very good team with alot of good players. unfortunately the coach will get the credit of coaching them when he really had nothing to do with it.

Seaside Classic in RI. OW brought summer teams, not OW player exclusive. I was curious, so I just looked up results- 2 of the 12 teams they brought finished with a losing record. Nothing too impressive, but hard to imagine there was a parade of teams getting smoked like OP said.
