Families have to chose amongst what is available to them. The state sends almost no one to the pro academies and logistically they're a nightmare for most regardless. So, then you're left with BS and OW, possibly a MA or NY non pro club of you're near a border.

BS and OW have fallen off a cliff the last few years. Not that they dominated BDA in the NE but they were far better than they are now. If you're not aiming for mid to high D1 and/or you want to play HS then ECNL make make sense. Chose the best fit and coaching, not the patch. Take a look to at where BS an OW players wind up - not the academic part but the soccer part.

I see that the 2007 OW girls are 1 win in 12 games with a -18 goal difference in their GA division. I bet there's 6 to 8 teams in CT that crush them. The allure at OW is over. Stick a fork in them

thats not the problem. there are 3 07 s who currently play up. 2 of them are where they need to be development wise. the third should be playing age appropriate. the issue with ow 07 is the fact that the club will not drop its worse players because one donates 40k a year to sponsor the outdoor facility and the other has a field name after her dad at osp. thats the problem
