For the life of me I do not get why they are losing. They have instagram stars, soccer players that play around the world. Dads that coach there kids around the world. They have Mogie what more do they need to win?

Same thing! Does "ECLR" stand for "Elite Cash-Losing Racket"?

This is terrible advice. Sitting the bench on CFC United won’t work. Playing in their regional team won’t make your wildest dreams come true either. The best 12-15 of each team: CFC, FSA, and OW actually will feel like they have accomplished something.

All clubs have good and bad teams. Varies by age group, club to club. However if a club had many more bad teams than good? Take that into consideration. What could be a good team/good coach could change

Bah. The top 16-18 girls on CFC's older teams should feel like they're accomplished something, as the clear standout top girls teams in CT. Period. But with girls, so many get some scholly money to tons of no name schools, that it's "worth it' to play elsewhere I guess. Girls soccer is so weird. It's awful. Slow, poorly skilled, etc., yet they have something real to play for. So the machine keeps churning.

On the boys side, no one gets athetic money, and no one goes pro. So they're just doing it to... I don't know. challenge themselves? Play the game they love at the highest level they can?

Regardless of gender, if you aren’t getting playing time what are you paying for? Friends? Who care if girls play or not in college. Whether or not you play at the top girls program of the moment, if you aren’t playing much, what are you doing? I think you’d like to believe that somehow 45 girls could jam into one CFC team and somehow garner 45 D1 offers. Not possible.

I didn't make my point clearly. I meant girls can play at any number of middling teams and still hope for a college offer. But yes, they have to PLAY and middling chunksters can still play at FSA and OW and others not CFC and still get looks for some reason. But boys don't really have that hope - the large majority of them anyway, so most realistic ones are really just playing for the competition and love of the game. Which is fine. Expensive hobby, but fine.

Yes many clubs players come from families that can afford pricey activities. Their kids just love playing but don't think they're on any college pathway. TS crazies make it seem like everyone is obsessed with college but most families just aren't once you're outside the top 2 leagues

No High School, long bus trips, crazy OW rules, fund raising BS, crappy coaching... all to go to Eastern. Bizarre. Who chooses that?

catch up skippy - GAL got rid of the no HS rule to try and compete with ECNL. Hasn't helped of course, and they got rid of the one thing that differentiated them - 10 months of training and competition. OW may not be a good fit for local players but nationally GAL is a solid B league with a few quality clubs left, some quality players still. IF CFC isn't an option for players, you're left with FSA (ugh), (ECLR (double ugh) or some good EDP teams.

The "best" 15 on FSA and OW are idiots. Only 2 or 3 for both teams combine, matter in a good year. 15?! Seriously, 10 of those 15 play about half a game for each team as they swap with each other and the other 3 on the gameday roster. The top 5 rarely come out and only 2 of those are probably actually above average and can impact SOME games (in all honstely, likely against mediocre to bad teams only). No one on those rosters (and barely anyone at CFC either to be fare) is changing a game consistently against good competition.

4 starters were missing from the 2005 game against SSS. That is the reason why they lost.
