You have to do what you have to do to win some games. In high school witness a lot of pass, pass, pass... then long ball to get over the defenders or to the corner and then lose the possession and the other team kicks a long ball back and the cycle continues. At least in college there are more talented players to make it look better and even finish a goal.

Again, it is essentially free and the coach typically only has the players for 2-3 months a year. The coach is given a stipend under a couple of grand a year to run the program. In most cases, an area with 5-6 high schools may only have one decent club to get players from, many of those players will go to one school with a few being divided among the other programs. The rosters are filled out with kids who only play during the season and may be involved in other sports.
You are going to get less than desirable results under these circumstances. Bash it all you want, but it is what it is...

I'm guessing the coach is not their to really develop the players, must be just the small $ they get to babysit.
