Shout out to Palm Harbor University High School

Wanted to give a shout-out to PHUHS, staff, coaches, parents and players for hosting the 2016 FHSAA Class 5A Girls Soccer - Regional Quarterfinal game last night at PHU. Our school has been to many District and Regional games over the years and I can't recall a prior game where we (parents and spectators of the away team coming into a host school), were so warmly received by the host, and actually felt like it was going to be a great game where good sportsmanship would abound. As a parent/spectator we have witnessed some of the most sorry sportsmanship from Grownups (booing from the home crowd on ref calls, constant cheerleading from the announcers for their home team, and use of noisemakers, both in hand by kids/parents, and actually electronic noisemakers by the announcers, classless signs, etc.). All is prohibited during these games but we've never seen much happen, which I'm sure is why schools still endure it. PHU was the exception last night. From a parent/spectator perspective, it was a class act all the way around. Congrats on your win too PHU and Good luck in your next round.

If enjoying a game where good sportsmanship exists, means I'm a "mom", then call me mom. I was giving cudos to a school and its community for what seems lost on so many these days.

Easy to be gracious when you're beating somebody.

If you really want to know how warm and fuzzy PHU parents are, just ask them where they live! 50% live outside the PHU school zone, but let's just skip that part since we are all some warm and fuzzy here! Many of the players should be at East Lake, Countryside, Seminole, etc. Can you say Pinellas County All Star team?
