you are definitely not from our area. the HS boys teams have stunk for years because of this very thing. they would take the top club boys (small handful) if any tried out, then round out the rest of the team with rec players.

Amen. My son is a freshman and we started tryouts this week. Haven't seen that level of excitement and that big smile on his face in a good while. Looking forward to it.

I have said it before. My son is playing college soccer right now and he says HS soccer was more fun than club soccer. It did not hurt his recruiting changes' in fact. his now college coach called both his club coach AND is HS coach during the recruiting process.

absolutely when you can sit in the stands at any HS soccer game and hear the moans and groans while watching such inferior soccer, and you ask yourself does the coach even have a clue as to what they are doing? it is painful.
