Mandarin deserved to beat Flager Palm Coast and they were clearly the better team for the majority of the match, however they do have a dirty mindset and foul a lot. #'s 11 and 6 are dirty players who clearly hacked several times without any intention of getting the ball. #6 fedicini boy purposely went in to hurt a player with minutes remaining out of frustration and received a red and #11 ****** complained about getting pushed and stepped on right after that....good luck against lyman

Mandarin does not have a dirty mind set. They play hard NOT dirty. If you were at the game they (Mandarin) were getting pushed in the backs, slide tackled from behind, cleats up etc. and no calls but when they got physical calls were being made against them. #6 and # 11 on MHS are not dirty they were just more skilled and hard to defend thus the FPCHS defense got more physical. #13 in parrticular. If you are from FPCHS just read the Daytona paper about the game. I think it says it all. You were over matched and beaten

Season ends for Flagler
By MICHAEL LEWIS
Staff Writer
PALM COAST -- The speed of the Jacksonville Mandarin boys soccer team was too much for Flagler Palm Coast on Tuesday night.
Like bees swarming to honey, the Mustangs just kept coming and coming in the Class 6A regional semifinal.
FPC held on for as long as it could, but eventually the speed just could not be stopped, and an undefeated season came to a, well, speedy end.
Two goals in 17 seconds midway through the second half lifted Mandarin to a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs.
Mandarin now advances to the Class 6A regional final, while FPC's bid to reach the regional finals for the first time since 2002 was squashed.
"They definitely did their homework; they played us really tight and they're the fastest team we've seen," FPC forward Jason Alvarez said. "Their skill level was really high, and they just played really well."
After a high-scoring first half that saw a ton of chances and a 2-2 score, both defenses tightened in the final 40 minutes.
But with FPC (16-1-4) holding strong with 18 minutes to go, Mandarin seized control.
A strong offensive attack down the field led to a Mustangs chance inside the box, and one shot ricocheted off the hand of an FPC defender.
The resulting penalty kick was smacked home by Davor Fetahovic, giving the Mustangs a 3-2 lead with 18:05 left.
Before the Bulldogs could catch their breath, the speedy Mustangs (19-7-2) struck again, as Alex Gallaher blasted a shot off the post and into the net.
"We dropped back into a defensive posture a little too much and gave them space to make plays," FPC coach Al Greenwald said. "They've got so many kids who can play at that high level."
It looked promising for a while for FPC: Alvarez, the area's leading scorer, notched his 38th goal with 10 seconds left in the first half when he scored on the rebound off his own penalty kick. .
Matt Hillerby scored the other goal for FPC.
"We said at the start of the year we wanted to be district champs, and we got that so we had a great season," Alvarez said. "It's kind of deflating losing on your home field in your last game, but we tried our best."
