    COLD WEATHER THURSDAY

How will Thursday nights cold weather (supposed to be the coldest of this season) effect some of the northern teams. Is it like rain where it can even up the talent difference or may be some of the more agressive teams back off from physical play and play soft.

Would FHSAA ever change a game due to extreme cold weather?

What are some of the unique ways to keep your bench players warm on a freezing night game?

Most of the coaches have no idea about how to deal with weather, besides of how to deal with a soccer game.
In last evening game, it was very cold, and all the bench players under blankets, with gloves and beanies. Twice, once per team, a yellow card was shown and both coaches sent to the field, immediatly, one of the bench players, with not warming up at all, exposing them to easy injuries. That shows me how poor our coaching staff is; any soccer fan has seen on TV how to professionals teams keep most of the bench players warming up all the time, just to be ready for a possible sub.

No offense intended to my fellow Floridians, but temps in the 30's and 40's...with or without rain...is hardly "extreme."

The usual rules for cold weather apply...dress in layers and keep your head warm!

No cold weather excuses now. It feels like a heat wave.

We played a team that had a heater for the players (not a public school). And whoever said players should warm up . . . you're right. Anyone who plans to sub in the next 5 to 10 minutes should be warming up.

One year my son's team was hosting Districts on an extremely cold evening. We brought hot cocoa to the team throughout the game, and made sure the visiting team had plenty of ice in their water cooler. Oh, the refs were also given the hot cocoa or coffee, yet when they visiting team came looking at half time, gee, it was all gone!!!
