It's nice to see a top player taking these games seriously:
CLEARWATER - A lot has happened for Chelsea Klotz in her senior year. She scored 64 goals this past season and led Tampa Prep to a Class 2A state soccer t*tle. In the process, she obtained a full ride to play soccer at South Florida.
Saturday at Countryside High School, she proved she could play with the best.
Participating in the 15th annual Senior Soccer Challenge, an all-star game pitting the top seniors from Hillsborough County against the top seniors from Pinellas County in both boys and girls soccer, Klotz scored every goal in the match, a hat trick, to give Team Hillsborough a 3-0 win.
In the boys game, Team Pinellas won the game in a shootout, 3-2, partially thanks to Team Hillsborough hitting the post twice in the shootout.
"I'm surprised," said Klotz, voted her team's MVP. "I didn't expect to get all three goals. I mean, I'm playing against superstars here. I wasn't sure how it was going to be but I am happy I did it."
