In High School a hard schedule is:
3 games in a week all away with practices in between and homework everynight. It's not so much the competition but more the schedule itself.
Playing in a weak district can still be a challenge if your coach decides to schedule games outside your district. The problem in South Florida is that some good teams are more worried about their records then proving they can compete against harder teams so they dont schedule outside their districts. However in some coaches defense some have tried and succeeded in playing a handful of out of district games (and those games have been very good for both sides). Finally to the person that said three games a week will make you better, I dont know where you get your information from but if a highschool player practices 4 to 5 days a week then plays 3 games plus club soccer they will burn out very quickly. Not to mention the chances of injury are much greater. Any doctor or sports med person who is worth anything will recommend having the players rest a few days a week to give their muscles time to rejuvenate. Talk to any of these doctors and they will tell you that more and more athletes are getting hurt because they are pushing their bodies past their capacity. Take note this could happen to your child. Relax and let them rest a little and you will still get results and maybe even better then you expect.
