    Was LHP lucky?

    Was LHP lucky?
LHP was lucky in the game vs Keystone that the game did not go to PK'S when in 2nd OT the winning goal off a weak free kick was heading straight to keepers hands and a defender steps into just clear the ball, miss hits the ball into the corner of the net for the game winner own goal.

LHP is a great side with an excellent defense. They had a large size advantage over Keystone's team loaded with freshman and sophmores. LHP has a great throw in from #19 and several players #20 & # 18 who are excellent on heading attack. When they could not penetrate Keystone's defense with the possession game and are very weak on shooting and finishing, they then went to long ball the rest of the night trying to exploit the size advantage and winning the ball in the air. LHP had more skill, size, but Keystone worked hard and missed many opportunities to score and maybe you could say that Keystone was unlucky.

I heard that the game was definately one sided. The possession was heavily in LHP favor.

LHP team knows it was not one sided and Iam sure felt fortunate to get out of Keystone with a victory. In high school soccer possession looks good or pretty but a good defense will shut possession down everytime. In high school soccer possession does not always win games, especially if you can not finish. LHP won the match based on the strength of their set plays, great throw-ins and heading ability and 1 defensive error. LHP went to long ball the majority of the match when the possesion did not work. Keystone had enough opportunities to score in order to win that match, but did not get it done.

Keystone method was good enough to win district 5-3A against some very talented teams in Crescent City and Taylor. Then defeat Umatilla and Taylor again and finally work a very talented, skilled, physically larger LHP team to 2nd OT. We will never know what might have happened in PK's as the LHP keeper looked shaky that night and Keystone Keeper made several great saves.

Actually LHP started with 4 freshman according to their coaches roster with 1 being the keeper (who was very shakey). Only one freshman #23, made an impact, but the LHP 6 seniors were the difference, all very talented skilled players with good size.

LHP aint much of a great team, they barely beat a team from Mulberry
1-0, which was also an offsides goal!! They will definitely lose their next game!

i saw the game and was very surprise at LHP they were awful they had #19 who was pretty good at defense and his brother #20 who could head the ball and was pretty big and gave him an advantage....other than that when they beat keystone 2 years ago in the regional finals they were a decent team...but this year they were awful...even those few players that i pointed out were not very good...8-0 easily by heritage if they were to even get that far

I think that after reading these posts that LHP is disliked as much as Keystone.

Yes that seems to be the trend when school wins a few matches or should I say another school looses one and goes home for the year.
