What a joke in Saturday's Sun-Sentinel they said St Thomas was upset by Heritage. St Thomas is not even in the same league talentwise. Doubt St THomas would have been been undefeated if they played a tougher schedule. Also why go to TX next week when they can't beat local teams.

There is an awlful lot of accusations about recruiting going on. If it bothers you that much, prove it, report it and get them in trouble.
Otherwise, accept that it is happening and move on.
I sometimes wish my school would let me recruit, but I am not sure if it is worth having our name dragged through the mud.

Please, give us all a break, there is recruiting and then there is "recruiting" There is more than one way to skin a cat as they say. Many top players are indeed "recruited", may be not in the traditional sense of the word, but they are. Nobody from the school has to do anything, that way there is no exposure, our friends daughter was approached in a very unofficial way by one of the parents on their travel team about possibly having their kid join this great private school and play for their great team, tuition scholarships and other arrangements were talked about such as a partial and one of the parents work for the school in some capacity to take care of the rest. Please, could we stop this nonsense on here? lets face it folks, it has been going on forever, it does go on currently and it will continue to go on, it is an advantage? duh, of course it is, is it fair? no, but then again life isn't fair. There are no rules to regulate it so there is nothing anyone can do. In the mean time, after every victory just keep things in perspective and remember that the playing field is definitely not level.

Our school has decided that academic "scholarships" are not something we want to do at this time. We also do not discount tuition for anyone. Does it hurt us athletically? Of course it does, but until this mindset is changed, it serves me and my program no purpose to complain about those schools that do it.

And if you believe the parents I'll sell you a bridge over the everglades I own. Do you honestly want us to believe that parents are making financial deals on the schools behalf? That is outlandish and your credability is gone from that one statement. My daughter plays there and we pay just like everyone else. I do agree that players talk to each other and encourage each other to play together (See Boca High Boys Team, OH WAIT that is a public school and that is NEVER done) but that is not against the rules. Good players want to play with other good players, period, get over it that good players dont want to play with little Suzy...[/quote]
Where exactly in the previous post do you see it written anywhere, or even implied for that matter, that "parents are making financial deals on the schools behalf"??? Where do you come up with that? Please read it one more time, slower this time, and then get back on here and apologize for your lack of proper comprehension, thank you. Actually maybe it will be better if I just try again, let me make clearer for you this time, it goes something like this "hey let me know if your daughter is interested in possibly attending our daughter's school, I know the person you would need to talk to if that was the case and can arrange a meeting if you want, I am sure they can work something out with you guys for some kind of scholarship or parental work arrangement, heck we did it and it has worked out great, why don’t you give it a shot, besides little Suzy will be playing in a great team with a lot of good players, and we do need another strong defender, don't worry about getting her there form your area 20 miles away, if you can't they have buses for that†there is that a little better now? OBTW, another little detail that gets lost in this whole discussion is that not only does the team become stronger because of these "recruiting" advantages, but it makes other schools (mostly public) teams weaker by missing out on local talent that is now driving 15-20 miles outside of their school zone to go to your private schools. Everyone realizes the advantage except for few of you out there, nobody is saying that it should not be allowed, there are no rules being violated, all that is being suggested, I think, is that the success of a HS team that enjoys these types of advantages should be kept in perspective, that's all.
