    STA- West Bcoa

Perhaps the best high school soccer I have seen to date-
2 teams - 2 different styles- a great deal of determination.
Congrats to both teams on a great game!!

I too was there and while it went to kicks from the mark it was not a very good game to watch??
Both teams have many holes and while they did play with heart and determination, they lacked discipline, structure and skill!
St Thomas used skill and spacing to start the match, moving the ball well, while W Boca bunkered in. If St Thomas had even an average striker the score would have been 4-0 by half. With the exception of #19 for St Thomas I do not think those strikers could hit water if they were kicking off a bridge. W Boca defenders kept winning ball and hitting it right back to St Thomas in first half. Every shot St Thomas took, either went through goal posts or into Boca keepers stomach. Even St Thomas goal was shot directly at keeper and slipped through hands. Bet that keeper will tell you it was her mistake and she simply dropped it.

Once West Boca opened match (2nd half) and pushed forward, St Thomas defenders were exposed. Tall girls , but very slow. W Boca also is not the fastest, yet easily got past Defenders. With one main player to watch from W Boca #10, they could not even do that, as her one shot scored. This was such a great match, that W Boca knocked out own player #10 with celebration pile up?? causing her to sit though end of match and most of overtime????

Once game was even St Thomas forgot about skill advantage, forgot about passing, forgot about spacing, forgot about switching field?? They panicked?? Big bench for St Thomas wasn't even used much?? St Thomas coach easily cost team match as W Boca kids were cramping and exhausted and St Thomas kept fresh legs on bench all night??

Once Pk's started, then I must agree that was GREAT!! W Boca pulls keeper and allows senior field player, dirty uniform, no gloves, full of confidence to stand between posts.
everyone in stands knew ST kicker was nervous, she hit well placed ball although very slow and Boca pounced all over it to send 400+ people into frenzy.
Must give West Boca credit all 5 players drilled kicks into back of net sending them to Melbourne Friday night.

St Thomas coach cost them match as they had more total talent and usually in High School talent wins. Give edge in heart and determination to West Boca as thier coach seems to find a way to win!!

I would like to say St Thomas left it all on the field, but the truth is they left it all on the bench!!

West Boca has had the better team last 3 years just St Thomas does not know what a road trip is to north broward, boca or Wellington to play a stronger schedule. Both team were eliminated in regionals last 3 years by Outstanding Satellite team by similar scores.

I was there to watch and it was an excellent game. Both teams showed lots of heart. St. Thomas, did control most of the game and were much more skilled overall. They could'nt find the back of the net and all those lost oppty's came back to haunt them. It's an unforgiving game... The key forward player for West Boca was shut down the entire game but the one and only shot she had, she put a beautiful shot in the back of the net. Both teams played their hearts out till the last minute - congratulations.

            She was never shut down??

The game I saw, she played about half of regulation game at forward then both overtime's and she only had one shot??? St. Thomas out shot West Boca by a pretty big margin but they couldnt finish - it happens, it's soccer. Boca was just surviving the onsluaght. The confidence and execution in PK's won the game for Boca, simple as that.

Not sure you were watching or even know what you are saying??? She got hurt after her goal and came out didn't return till almost end of 2nd overtime??
They never shut her down or anyone down, Boca played defense all of first half and into second. Once they pushed forward your defenders were in big trouble they just couldn't make ST pay for many miscues!! They could not hang with the talent of ST so they actually did some coaching and came up with a game plan that worked!!

You can not call sending many balls into the woods shots on goal?????

Your team got beat and they are not very good, also your coach blew game big time as he has in recent years!! Satellite drops to 3A and does not even get into Regional Semis???
See you next year as we travel to another foreign country to play soccer this summer???

                Aquinas forever !!

Boca had the better defense and goalies. St Thomas had all their skill at midfield and forwards and did a very good job of counter attacking with their speed which is where the majority of their shots came from. Also St Thomas goal against West Boca was caused by St Thomas player falling down tactically and St Thomas getting free kick from corner that came out to Campbell at midfield just outside 18 yard box with no-one on her. Her shot was low angled toward the left post and very difficult to play. St Thomas did dominate the first quarter of game but after that Boca played them evenly after that both teams had opportunities. Also to St Thomas defenders that threw themselves in the air at players from Boca without ever trying to play a ball just remember it is only a game not a blood sport. Otherwise it was a great game and hope to see you up north more often. Also since I keep hearing about St Thomas's great bench. What was you JV teams only loss last year can you guess??? Case Closed.

Let me give you a story about one of the greatest St Thomas teams 2005-06 which was 4 years ago. They had 6 players from Florida Renegades team that was at one point #3 in the country. This is the team that Miskel's sister played on which was most likely one of the most dominant team of the last 10 years. The rest of that travel team played at Douglas (4 straight 6A titles) and Heritage Plantation a couple 3A titles. Most of our girls who played at Team Boca had lost a game with St Thomas during the season 2-1 where our only goal was scored by St Thomas defender. St Thomas dominated the game. We had 12 seniors that year that besides all odds played toe to toe with a great goalie with the mightly St Thomas team. How did St Thomas win the game one of their offensive players pulled our freshman defender on top of her in the box. Result Penalty kick late in the seconds half and a 1-0 victory. So don't be sad about last night. Ask Carlos true story.

So It's worth going to play overseas to have your best player get major knee injury. Ask Carlos about the past.

Heres the Truth and NOTHING but the TRUTH!!

It was an intense game no matter what you say. Did you not see the crowd of fans standing on their toes?!?!?! St Thomas did have very skilled players, I would know since I played with a few of them in travel. Yet boca had a few of their own (not just #10). Boca's defense held strong throughout the entire game. Their goalie held them through the game and let an easy ball get through. It was not one of the Bulls best games in ball control though. They were nervous about the game and were off to a bad start, but they played with all their hearts!!! People need to stop dumping on West Boca about their playing!! Its about time people recognized that West Boca is a better team this year, and they deserve more than just a short article about their win. Where is their picture or headline?!?!?!
For the one who said #10 played foward the whole game and was shut down, let me tell you something. She was playing center-mid!! She played defensive and attacking mid, not foward!! And if she was playing foward the whole game, I can promise you St Thomas defense would not be able to shut her down!! She had an amazing goal that brought up the girls hopes of winning. Also after her goal her teammates did not harm her!! she jumped up to cheer, and ended up getting a leg cramp! She maybe an amazing player but she does not make up the whole Bulls team! St Thomas had great offense but from what I saw not that great of a defense. They went for the player more than they went for the ball.
As for the Pks St Thomas had some great shots, especialy the fake out by #10. But the The Bulls keeper that went in for Pks had to one great stop; she was like a spider-monkey, able to jump high and pounce on the ball!
Either way it WAS a great game, great skill, great plays, and great players!
Congrats to the Bulls on another victory for their undefeated season! good luck against Melbourne!!
And for St Thomas, great game and season! Hope to play against you next year.

you moron Satellite dropped to 3A because new Viera HS opened and many of their players ended up their. Viera was ranked ast #5 in state and as high has ESPN #12 only loses 3 being to melbourne all close games.
