Seen lots of club, oops high school teams this year... West Boca, Douglas, Boca high, Cypress Bay they all have travel players so thats not uncommon.

The 3rd girls state high school soccer rankings are now posted.

Who does Melbourne or Satellite play??? All the teams in Palm beach county are tying each other or losing to each other by 1 goal. Example is Spanish River or Boca High either team could win 6a beause they have very good scorers and outstanding keepers. Look at the list Boca, Spanish River, Park Vista, Wellington, Palm Beach Central, Coral Springs or Douglas and Cypress Bay. Any of theses schools could win 6A. Problem is Heritage Delray is so much better than everyone else and Heritage Plantation is not far behind.

We'll have to wait an see on that one, its easy to say that when the odds certainly dont favor 1 specific team vs the other 50 - 60 in their classes. that is like saying I bet Tiger Woods won't win the upcoming masters, the odds are against him. There are probably 3 of the top 5 teams in the state playing in 2A this year, AH Delray, Tampa Prep, and St Johns and in no special order. They could beat most any team in the state, 2A is going to be open to who is playing the best at the end of the year. 3A is harder to call because there are a handfull of teams that are very good but none I would call heads above the rest and I feel that there are up to 6 - 8 teams with a shot.

thats my opinion, I would like to hear yours as to why they will not win.

It is an interesting statistics problem. If you look at the cumulative effect of variation and uncertainty, you would conclude that the favorite has much less of a chance of going through the playoffs than would be the case with any single game.

In fact, the run to the championship involves five games (regional quarterfinals, semifinals, and final; state semifinal and final). If you say the best team in a class has a 90% chance of winning every game it plays (not usually the case), the cumulative statistical probability of winning a state championship under those conditions and assumptions is slightly less than 60%.

That's why you never look beyond the next game.

You know, I never thought about it that way. Same can be said for teams in the Tampa/ Pinellas area, where many good teams have to play each other, giving them 1 or 2 losses or ties.

So, I'm just curious if anyone knows how many of the teams that Satellite and Melbourne have beaten have winning records? I know they are both excellent teams , but I just wonder how much real competition they get week in week out, like teams from other parts of Fla get regularly. I know they tied each other.

Actualy you would also have to factor in the Districts also because only the top 2 advance so you could also get knocked out there altho there is less of a chance, but still a chance.

Melbourne had a game against AH Plantation early in the year. They ended up forfeiting the game because the supposedly didn't have enough players! This forfeit IS NOT in their posted record!

What are you talking about? Mel High did not have AH Plantation on their schedule this year. No forfeit happened, thus not in their record, since game did not exist.

You need to contact someone at Buchholz. Check theeir website or if you know someone that is involved in soccer contact them.
