Is that the clattering of feet from the U13 and up coaches on the girls side running for the door? "Directing", yeah that is what he does!

Well it looks as though GB has lost his seat at the table:

Definitely a solid step in the right direction but I doubt AH has the time this is going to take to be successful. This would seem to be a temporary arrangement until they find someone that can do the job.

So they've got a Director of Coaching, a Technical Director, and a Director of Soccer Operations. All getting a cut of our fees before our kids even see a coach or trainer. I'd like to believe it's a step in the right direction. It's certainly going to be an expensive experiment if not. Is it possible to negotiate some quantifiable deliverables for our money?

You are right by saying this is a step in the right direction. GB will have more time to implement training and development for the players on the field instead of being spread too thin with bureaucratic nonsense. He belongs on the field training the next generation(s) not dealing with their parents. AH was a great player and is a very good coach. Unfortunately, I agree that his professional duties will not allow him the time necessary to fulfill this role to the best of his abilities. So who is really going to suffer in the end?

"Completing the new posts is the appointment of Hue Menzies as Director of Soccer Operations. Menzies, the former Executive Director at CFK, will be responsible for the scheduling, day-to-day operations at the club as well as serve as program manager for the Girls ECNL program."
So has Menzies been relegated to office work?

New title basically the same responsibilities. I doubt AH will be able to handle being a DOC over all the premier coaches and handle his professional responsibilities. He's an incredile coach I don't think he can handle what is basically two full time jobs, with the DOC role being arguably the most demanding, lowest paying and least fulfilling of the two. HM being Director of Soccer Ops is basically saying he's running the club and is AH's backup, which will most likely mean he's doing the DOC duties when AH isn't available.

Appointing HM is anything in that club is a big mistake. HM tahnks for some of the great things you did but you are one of the most unliked and undesirable folks that I know. You are not even worthy of having a job in the concession stand.

HM is not AH's back up. HM has no say over any coaches etc. He is a glorified scheduler as best I can tell. BP, AH and GB are still running the show. This just puts every coach directly accountable to AH which is much different than answering directly to GB. I didn't see this coming but it makes sense. I can't wait to see what else shakes out.

Karma for the Soccer Gypsy... OCYS just took a huge leap in credibility in my book.

Why is everyone trying to rationalize HM s role? It says "Director of Soccer Operations". It then says what he will be doing. He will have a big role at OCYS. Get over it.

He got demoted. Just a few days ago he was listed as "Director of Coaching". Now he's "Technical Director". That sounds like a made up job to get him out of the room.
