Yes, we did yesterday and the Credit card company told us to get a life.

We used a chase Visa card called and disputed the payment noting that we event was not played . Credit was placed on our card yesterday . Clearwater will have 30 days to dispute the chargeback but chase lady said that in most cases like this the credit card company sides with the customer .

The refund package they are offering is bull. Teams should get full cash refund option if they are unable to play in their 2 upcoming tournaments, one is a girls tournament. Will be re thinking any future tournaments with Chargers SC if we are not given full cash refund option.

We received an email from the tournament. They will be refunding 100%.

Because it was cancelled just before it was scheduled to start, the Chargers will have to pay for the early registration night, the game scheduling, the referee assigning, the field and parking lot set-up and the delivered porta-lets, will have to refund money to members who worked their required volunteer hours during the week-long run up to the tournament and will lose all of the tournament income budgeted for its Development Academy program. I wonder whether they will still have to pay for the on-site medical training staff and local off-duty law enforcement personnel that were scheduled to work that long weekend.

volunteer hours

Many volunteers for this tournament committed almost all of their hours required for the year during this tournament. They made sacrifices as well. Some had scheduled days off from work, babysitting arrangements, long drives - some over an hour to drive to the complex. Volunteers lost valuable time, money and the hours they committed to that are due to the league. In a court of law, certainly they would be awarded their hours. No contract was signed amongst the volunteers and the league regarding cancellation of tournament and loss of volunteer hours. Chargers owe their volunteers their hours they committed to. They need to chalk if off as another loss along with the other losses.
