Larry not allowing posts through about Danillo, the promised Q1 tournament, the HS tournament, or lies about DA and ECNL.

Well worth the money - enjoy your second rate coach on your C team...

Lots of "Everything is great at Surf" posts on BOTN lately. That means it's anything but

Quite a few large club C teams that are better than a Surf A team.

Talking about Westchester at least, they bit off more than they could chew. The parents who supported the club at first did so because they wanted 1) more than just the 2x/week practices the town teams could provide, 2) convenience.

The problem with 2x/week with the town is that town fields were used and their availability was unpredictable due to field closures due to weather. Surf promised to rent the local turf fields thus guaranteeing 3x/week practices. They've done this.

Many of these parents had kids who were not super duper athletes or soccer phenoms. They could have taken their kids to FC Eastern or FC Westchester which accomodate the less than superior athletes who nevertheless want 3x/week practices but those place are less convenient - one has to travel 20-30 minutes to get to their practices.

Thus Surf was born at least - at $2.5k/kid Larchmont/Mamaroneck parents got what they wanted and many signed up.

This expansion to LI and attempt to play very high level soccer was something new and seems like the admins and Board (if there is one) have tried to take on too much.

After 18 months, I'm not sure if there are even any Westchester based teams left ... perhaps just one or two per gender ...

I though Surf was going to get all of the NYSC girls that were left teamless when they reduced down to 2 teams per age bracket last year. There were ages where they had from 3 up to 5 teams, so theoretically that should have been a huge player base available for Surf, at least girls side. Now if you look at the website it appears there are no westchester teams.

Please, Surf has nothing to offer to a good player. NYSC obviously does. This whole Surf thing has been nothing more than smoke and mirrors. That includes Long Island.

NYSC does...laughable with their A-F teams. Just look at their 01G NPL team cobbled together from town club soccer team leftovers as an example. A lot of unskilled players playing kickball on that team! Real talent in Westchester is playing at World Class/NYCFC.

How's that working out for you Surf? How long will those "top" coaches stay with you?

You mean those top D2 and D3 coaches too busy with their college teams to run practices and attend games so they send an assistant? Sounds like another typical club, nothing special there. And well paid too.

No shocker there. College coaches will rarely have time for anything outside their college teams. That's their career. It only works with HS aged teams that don't play in the fall. But their credentials sound nice on ckyb websites
